Home / Join the Community / CalTrin: Overview of the Protective Factors
The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework™ is an evidence-informed tool for strengthening families and reducing the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The framework helps professionals work with children and families to promote the optimal development of all children while protecting vulnerable children from maltreatment.
During this session hosted by the California Training Institute, the facilitator will discuss each protective factor and provide strategies for practical application. This session is presented in an engaging lecture format that will review the five protective factors that help keep families strong and prevent child abuse and neglect, identify key strategies and concrete everyday actions that help families build protective factors, explore what it means to work with families in a strength-based way, and share Protective Factors resources for providers and families.
