Ensuring Safe Physical Environments and Safe Technology: Checklist for Safe Environment
This checklist aims to help Youth Serving Organizations (YSO) evaluate or assess their facility’s environment for safety. The checklist includes detailed aspects of visibility (keeping children as visible as possible), access (who has access to the space), supervision (who is in charge of looking after children), transportation (what happens when youth need to be transported), technology (access to and use of phones or other technology), and communication (communication between staff, and to families).
